Unable to locate Uplay PC

I haven’t played the game in a while, but I get that error message today trying to play.

So I reinstalled Uplay and now the launcher opens, but it still says it cannot located Uplay PC and says to reinstall it. I thought I just did that.

all my other uplay games seem to launch ok

Does Ubisoft EVER help anyone? I am still waiting for technical help to get the Division fixed and noone has bothered to respond. Now this. Ubisoft, I don’t care how nice your games are, they don’t do much good if they don’t work and you can’t get help to make them work.

THIS IS MY LAST PURCHASE OF ANYTHING UBISOFT. I don’t appreciate the contempt you hold for your customers.

I apologize for the delay in response. I have taken a look at your case and an agent is currently working it. In the meantime, can you give the troubleshooting steps listed here a try and update your ticket if you are still experiencing this issue after those steps.

this is what I hate. Noone really reads these tickets, and then proceeds to offer up canned responses which don’t help. I have tried all of the steps with no luck. I suspect one of you recent patches broke things and we are fishing for workarounds. Instead of wasting everyone’s time Ubi should fix there code. None of my other Uplay games were affected, and WD2 worked up until the last time I ran it around a month or two ago.. I also tried a few different restore dates which did not help. I also find it odd that the problem seems to boil down to a missing Uplaypc file when clearly the program is already running. This has to be a simple fix on Ubisofts end.

Ubisoft has been quick to help me out whenever I’ve had problems with their games, in the past. Mainly just for AC Unity. However, I have always went through Uplay customer support via my Uplay profile. They have instant chat customer support there, and are quick to respond to emails. If your situation hasn’t been handled yet I would recommend that. best of luck to ya.

I have a ticket that I put in around the time of this post. It took them over a week just to respond. Their support is a total joke. The remedies they suggest don’t seem to have anything to do with the error message. They need to get the game or launcher programmers involved. I’ve spent countless hours and tried everything they have suggested even though they made no logical sense. WD2 is the only ubi title that suffers from this problem. I’m not the only one as many others have complained about it. Worse still is that although it doesn’t fix the problem, using ea_launcher on the command line at least allows me to play offline, but I had to find that workaround myself as it was never suggested. But again, it is still not a proper fix. Someday I may decide to use online mode, but where things stand right now that is not possible.

Hi i bought Apex edition then it installed HD textures. I started the game it installed some drivers and uplay then all finizhed, game logo came to the screen but after 10 second it gave this error:

Unable to locate Uplay PC.
Please reinstall UplayPC.

What should i do? I never used uplay before, this game installed it my pc and now it says unable to locate it. I can run uplay but it asks me account info. I don’t have uplay account. Do i have to create new one to play this game?

also Steam will install on older version of Uplay with the game files

Thank you yes i fixed it by doing exactly doing these steps. Now i am in game and thinking whether i should start in survival mode or not 🙂

It will be my first play of primal (I played FC1,FC2,FC3,FC4) what is your advise guys? Should i start new game with survival mode but perma death off?

Unable to locate uplay pc как исправить

so the game was working for like 2 days then suddenly it gives me the «unable to locate uplay» pc error.

things that i have tried already:
reinstalling uplay from the official site
verifying game files
reinstalling the game and uplay from scratch
reg fix
starting with admin rights
disabling avg
disabling synch

i have come to the point where i contacted ubisoft via mail, live chat and phone. i already sent them my msinfo and dxdiag a few weeks ago with no response.

so i was hoping the community might be of some help.

See another report from someone where they fixed the issue by reinstalling Steam itself

To be honest, it looks like a generic error message, so I imagine there’d be all kinds of «fixes» which may not actually do anything for you, as that’s not your issue

thanks for the response, i havent installed anything in-between and i forgot to list it but i reinstalled steam completely aswell, also the game and ubi are in the same drive.

Its a question for steam, did you do a verify the files thru steam?

I had a pre existing UPLAY account so dont know about having to set one up on a steam download but i do know the game that is a UBI game from steam also shows up as my game on my UPLAY launcher.

Same problem here, works fine when offline, fails when I connect online. The Division loads fine. Is it safe to conclude that since there’s been no solution after this long, they really don’t care because they already made the sale?

If reinstalling the game and the uplay client has not fixed the issue, can you please create a case on the support website

«they really don’t care because they already made the sale?» The reason it’s not fixed isn’t that they already have your money, Wildlands is not the last game they will ever make, they would want it fixed asap because of the effect on future sales.

P.S. And besides I would be more inclined to point the finger at microsoft when ever anything stuffs up on my computer, because it usually is Windows that is doing all the stuffing up when things go wrong.
